Visiting the Statue of Liberty is typically a must see on a New York itinerary, but for me it wasn’t high on the list. But when Casey and Stassi mentioned a trip to the historic Ellis Island, I was on board! And little did I know, a journey out to Ellis Island includes a stopover to see the famed Lady Liberty herself. Thinking back now, I’m thankful I was able to visit such an iconic piece of New York.
